How long have you been in business?
Rapid Board Industries has been in business for 19+ years. We opened our doors to service customers in 1991.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a contract electronic manufacturing service. We assemble thru-hole & surface mount boards, cables & wire harnesses, perform ECO rework for other companies.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was laid-off from a job, and came to work for my father part-time. I fell in love with the business and eventually started running the company so that my father could retire. Previously I was an IT programmer.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
All of the assembly work is hand-assembled. We service mostly smaller quantity orders and engineering prototypes. Our niche are the companies who do not want to send their product overseas to be assembled, or where set up costs for the automated companies would be too costly.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located at 34 Sullivan Road #3 in North Billerica, MA. I would love to expand this company if the economy would allow for it to happen.
