A Billerica landmark that is available to the public
Billerica’s crown jewel, the historic Bennett Public Library is conveniently located on the Common in Billerica center. A cultural landmark dedicated in 1881, the building has recently been restored to its original splendor and turn-of-the-century elegance. Period colors, drapery, stained glass windows, and lighting fixtures provide an awe-inspiring glimpse of the Victorian era, a time when The Bennett was Billerica’s cultural hub and meeting destination – just as it is today.
The library is privately owned and managed by the Bennett Public Library Association, which was chartered in 1880 to preserve the building and to make the public aware of its availability for cultural, civic, and social events.
